We invite you to sign up for Bright Beginnings on August 9. If you have not participated in the past, Bright Beginnings is a program organized by the YMCA of Greater Richmond to help children and their families get ready for school.
The YMCA has just provided us with the information, and there have been a few changes from the past. Rather than assigning a single time to TPC at the Tuckahoe Y, there is one event for all of the west end YMCAs being held at Hope Church on Patterson Avenue on August 9.
The Outreach Committee is suggesting that Tuckahoe Members sign up for the 8:00 am – 1:00 pm time slot on August 9 at Hope Church so that we can participate as a cohort, but if that day and time do not fit your schedule and you still want to help, you could sign for another day, time, or location. Note – If you are volunteering with a parent or guardian, you must be at least 12 years old. If you are volunteering alone, you must be at least 14 years old.
If you have questions, you can contact Pat Miller (info on Breeze or email the church office for her number).

Read MoreAre you aware that the beautiful fresh flowers that grace the chancel each Sunday are arranged by a group of Tuckahoe members who love flowers and have worked together to learn how to prepare arrangements for our space? The committee is seeking others who might also be interested in learning this craft and participating a couple of times a year in our flower ministry.
To that end, there will be a Floral Arranging Workshop in Duntreath on
Saturday, August 5th from 10 am – 12 noon.
ANYONE interested in learning more about flower arranging, either for your personal use or because you might consider joining the Flower Committee, is invited to attend!
What to bring: a water-tight container to use as a vase (no clear glass and nothing too large or too small) and your floral clipper or garden shears. The cost of materials will be $15/person. The workshop will be conducted by professional florist, David Pippin, https://www.davidpippin.biz/ and he will provide flowers, floral foam and instruction! To register, sign up below by Friday, July 28th.
