INSTRUCTIONS FOR WEEK 1:

  1. Complete the Presbyterian Polity Assessment Questions
  2. Check your answers with the Answer Key to Assessments
  3. Read the Introduction to the PCUSA Constitution paper
  4. Read the Historic Principles paper…it is long. It provides historical and theological context.  If time is short, be sure and at least read pages 7-12 about the eight Historical Principles. Here is a Summary-of-the-Eight-Historical-Principles to review.
  5. Review the G-1.0000-Powerpoint.

EARTHCARE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
Every year, the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay (a non-profit organization whose mission it so restore the lands and waters in the Bay watershed) invites businesses, community groups, and individual volunteers to participate in “Project Clean Stream”- the largest trash pickup initiative in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Last year, volunteers collected almost 23 tons of trash!
The Earth Care Team invites Tuckahoe members and friends to join this year’s Richmond kick-off clean up on Friday, April 12, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM. The more the merrier – and the more trash we can pick up.  You can find the full details, location, and the link to register here.  The clean up location is at Crooked Branch Ravine Park.  This park is on the southside, off of Forest Hill Avenue, just a few blocks from Forest Hill Park (there is a map at the link above).
If you are interested in participating, sign up at the link above (and make sure you enter the number of people you are registering or the system will not accept the registration).  High school students are also welcome and the Alliance will certify volunteer hours.  Tuckahoe participants who want to carpool should meet in the church parking lot at 1:30 PM.  If you have any questions, please email or call Heather Stevenson at hstevenson@mcguirewoods.com or 804-310-3069.
