Rise Against Hunger works in countries worldwide to fight hunger by providing volunteer-packaged meals

Our goal this year is to package 28,080 meals starting at 8:45 am.

We need 120 volunteers and have a goal of raising $11,500 to cover the cost of the meals.

This is an excellent opportunity for all of us to engage in a multi-generational, hands-on, impactful event to benefit those across the globe in ‘food-challenged’ situations.  Neighbors, friends, and co-workers are all welcome to participate – a simple way to invite someone to church and let them see what an amazing place Tuckahoe can be for worshiping and serving God! Volunteers aged 4 and over are invited to attend.  If you have questions, reach out to Tom Adair or Jim McLeskey.

Childcare will be provided during the event for children under 4 years of age from 8:45 until 11:30 am. If you plan to utilize the childcare, please email Jillian at JGatewood@tuckahoepres.org so that we have an accurate count.

The Session has called a congregational meeting on Sunday, October 26th, immediately at the end of worship, for the purpose of updating our congregational rules.

The main shifts from our CURRENT Congregation Rules to our Proposed updated Congregational Rules to our proposed updated rules are:

·     Call a congregational meeting in December to update the Pastor’s terms of call

·     Shift in when we ordinarily elect officers from March to February, with officer terms beginning April 1 instead of July 1 (the latter being our current practice, which is not detailed in the current rules)

As a note, the Session has also approved Walter Smith as Assistant Clerk through June 2026, serving in a backup capacity for Clerk of Session Barbie Keatts.

Please let Pastor Keli know if you have any questions. We hope to see you on the 26th!
