Sarah Cothern

Accompanist/Organist

Sarah and her family came to Tuckahoe in 1985, where she joined the choir and served as accompanist. She grew up in Wilmington, Delaware where she studied piano at the Wilmington Conservatory of Music and later studied piano and organ at the College of William and Mary and the University of Richmond. Sarah received a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from the College of William and Mary and a Master of Education degree from VCU. In 2002 she was called to be Minister of Music at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Hanover, Va, where she served as organist, choir director, and director of children’s choirs for 12 years. She and her family returned to Tuckahoe in 2014.
Sarah previously served as the accompanist for the Richmond Women’s Chorus, as accompanist for the Henrico Pops Chorus and their smaller Ensemble group, and also for the One Voice Chorus and their smaller Ensemble group.

Mary McGee

Mary has been a member of Tuckahoe since 1976 where she has served as a Sunday School teacher, VBS leader, chancel choir member, mission trip volunteer, an Elder and Deacon. Mary holds a B.S. in mathematics/education from Virginia Tech and an MBA from the University of Richmond.

She and her late husband, Bob, ran their own finance company for many years. She has one daughter, Meagan, a middle school teacher for Henrico Country Public Schools.

Harold “Hal” Breitenberg, Jr.

Parish Associate

E. Harold “Hal” Breitenberg, Jr. is a minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and an associate professor of religious studies at Randolph-Macon College. He grew up in Springfield, Virginia. Hal studied religion and music at The College of William and Mary and music composition at The Catholic University of America. After college he taught high school band in Gloucester, Virginia, and later worked for several years in the computer field for both the federal government and private industry. He received his M.Div. and Ph.D. from Union Presbyterian Seminary. Hal’s wife, Susan, is a member of Tuckahoe Presbyterian Church. They live in Glen Allen and their two adult daughters live in Richmond.
