Pastor, Head of Staff
Reverend Patrick Dennis joined the staff of Tuckahoe as Pastor/Head of Staff on August 1, 2013. He and his wife, Sarah, came to us from The Presbyterian Church in Fredericksburg, VA. Patrick served as the Associate Pastor there since 2006 and Sarah as the Director of Youth Ministry since 2008. Patrick received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a Religion minor from the University of Puget Sound and went on to attend Princeton Theological Seminary where he received his Masters of Divinity degree in May 2006. He was ordained in the PCUSA in October 2006. In addition to his work at the church, Patrick has served on the Personnel committee for the Presbytery of the James and until recently on the Board of Directors for a non-medical hospice agency.
Patrick and Sarah have two children, Audrey (4), and Iain (2), and a Golden Retriever, Kona.
Director of Children’s Ministries
Becky was called to Tuckahoe in February 2003 with eight years of experience in Youth and Children’s ministries, five years as an elementary school teacher, and five years as a preschool teacher. She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s of Education degrees from Georgia Southern University.
Becky believes that it is an awesome honor to serve the young children of Tuckahoe and their families, and to walk the Christian journey with them and with the dedicated teachers, assistants and support volunteers. Becky is passionate about the Godly Play approach to religious education, excited about planning the varied activities in the children’s Sunday School program, has a special place in her heart for the coordinating the annual Christmas pageant, and always looks forward with excitement toward directing the annual Vacation Bible School week. She also coordinates nursery volunteers for our three nursery rooms in which our youngest ones are cared for by the youth and adults in our church family.
Director of Music Ministry
Mark came to Tuckahoe in October, 1990. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Kentucky, and a Master of Church Music from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
One of his joys is to have seen his Bell Choir “TUCKADINGS” start from Day # 1 and develop into a vibrant, exciting group of musicians playing premier music. The singing of the Chancel Choir is a much anticipated moment in each Sunday’s service among Tuckahoeans. Mark often charges the choir and congregation to remember the words of Psalm 100:2 “Serve the Lord with gladness: Come before his presence with SINGING!”
Mary has been a member of Tuckahoe since 1976 where she has served as a Sunday School teacher, VBS leader, chancel choir member, mission trip volunteer and an elder. Mary holds a B.S. in mathematics/education from Virginia Tech and an MBA from the University of Richmond. She and her late husband, Bob, ran their own finance company for many years. She has one daughter, Meagan, currently working on her Masters at VCU.
Director of Youth Ministries
Sarah received her Masters of Divinity from Union Presbyterian Seminary in May, 2013 and is seeking ordination in the PC(USA). She holds degrees in Religious Studies and Human Services from Elon University and has a passion for youth ministry. She and her husband, Andy Morgan, were married in August of 2013. They both seek to answer God’s call to ordained ministry.
Director of Visitation
Ginger holds a B.S. from Virginia Tech in Management, Housing, and Family Development and earned a Masters in Christian Education in 2008 from Union Presbyterian Seminary. She works at Camp Hanover part time, and has served several terms on the Board in the past. Ginger grew up here at Tuckahoe. She joined the church with many other communicants before Bill Wilson, our first pastor, left in 1963. Active in the youth group here, she participated in the Presbytery high school youth mission trip “Operation Mexico” of 1970, and helped lead it in 1974. Ginger and her husband Mike were married at Tuckahoe in 1975 before moving west. They returned to Richmond in 1996, with their three children, Preston, Marly, and Ben. Since that time Ginger has served as Sunday School teacher and Superintendent, Deacon, mission trip volunteer, and Habitat for Humanity coordinator.
